Antique Lug Handled Saltglaze Stoneware Jar

Saltglaze stoneware jar with two lug handles in a smaller than usual size. Attractive drip glaze and good colour add to this utility pots look which would have been used for many different uses. An example of this exact same style of pot was excavated at the Fulham Pottery site and is recorded in Browne Muggs by Robin Hildyard. Height 9 inches, width at top rim from handle to handle is 8.5 inches. A couple of small hairlines only. English C1780/1820.
