Antique Blue Glass Apothecary Lug Chemist Bottle Troch Cay.
The first of 6 rare label under glass apothecary bottles is the tall wide mouth version Troch:Cay: (Cayenne Lozenges?).Beautiful highlighted label with decorative swags rarely seen on English LUG bottles. Marked on the base YGCo. These bottles were made by the York Flint Glass Company of York, North Yorkshire UK that was founded in 1835 and ran for almost a 100 years making pharmaceutical and medical glass related wares. In my experience the few examples found all came from Scotland so I am assuming these types of labelled bottles were specific orders only for Scottish apothecary shops. Height 10 inches, width 4 inches. No chips or cracks. Late 19th century.
