Cooper Salt glaze Stoneware Red Currant Jelly Pot Jar
A hard to find small sized jar advertising Red Currant Jelly Cooper 74 Cornhill London. The jar has wide banding running around the body. The top rim had two small chips with one on the shoulder, all repaired. No other damages or repairs. James Cooper began the business in 1823 as a preserver of fresh provisions at 7 St Johns Street Clerkenwell. In 1828 he had offices at 46 Cornhill and by 1835 was now in 74 Cornhill. By 1845 he was listed as being at 134 Leadenhall Street dating this jar somewhere during the years 1835/1847. Height 6 inches, width 4 inches.
