Antique Sealed Transitional Shaft and Globe Glass Wine Bottle C1680
A dug wine bottle with pronounced seal for FW on the shoulder. The bottle is a late transitional shaft and globe form with shorter neck and fine thin string rim. The surface has a brown oxidised look from burial although no pitting to the glass. Unfortunately the bottle has suffered a 4 inch crack running down from the rim to the body. The surface oxidation hides most of the damage so is not that noticeable. The top rim has been conserved and repaired where minimal chipping and broken piece from the break happened. The bottle displays well and is priced accordingly to reflect the damage. Height 7 inches, width 5.5 inches. English, C1680. Unattributed.
