Primitive Elm & Ash Wood Milking Stool
A gorgeous early primitive milking stool with bags of character and wear. The seat has many cuts and knocks but this all adds to its look and a small hole is also present which may have been to hold a taper stick in a metal holder for light on those dark winter months in the home whilst milking the cow. The seat sits proud to the floor and is all original . Just a light wax has been applied to bring out the colour but I have left the underneath as found and dry. Length 17 inches, height 8 inches, width 8 inches. Found in Sussex with two other stools which I will be listing shortly. Early 19th century.
