Juggins Pottery Copeland & Garrett Weight & Measures

Super rare green transfer printed ironstone pottery weight made by Copeland & Garrett. The pattern is called ALBA. This very early weight dates from the years 1833/47 only making it one of the earliest known marked weights for a grocer or butcher. I was not aware these pottery weights dated so early and feel it to be a great rarity. William Juggins of 22 James St Covent Garden devised a method of making ceramic weights with a lead infill in 1840 making him the forerunner off all pottery weights. No damage.
