Antique Saltglaze Stoneware Utility Jar

A good example of a globular jar with rolled top lip. These early jars were used for a multitude of products in apothecary and grocer stores and held amongst other things tobacco, snuff, etc. Height 10 inches, width 6.5 inches. One tiny base chip otherwise in fine condition with a pleasing salt glazing around the top rim. English C1780/1800
