English Shaft & Globe Glass Wine Bottle C1675

English shaft and globe wine bottle with wonderful patina. This bottle has only recently been found in the outer lying grounds of Croome Court in Worcestershire and was once sealed with the coat of arms for the Earl of Coventry but has been lost to ground/frost damage from burial. Luckily the beautiful patina somewhat disguises this and the bottle shows no other damage apart from a small scratch on the surface. I have scanned the bottle in bright sunlight for hidden damage but cannot see any cracks. The form and patina step this bottle up to another level despite the loss of the seal. The surface has been conserved to stop excessive flaking and is mostly stable. Height 7.5 inches, width 6 inches. English C1675.
