Rare Octagonal Black Glass Wine Bottle

A super example of a rare half size octagonal wine bottle. There are 8 sides to this equal sided cylindrical shaped bottle with a very long wonky neck. The body shows good honest wear to the shoulders from multiple use and has never been tumbled or repaired. There is one chip to top rim and one on the string rim, no star cracks. The earliest sealed and dated example of this shape is 1739 and I would put this at before 1740. Height 8.75 inches, width 3.5 inches. If you collect English forms this bottle is a belter and worthy of any fine collection. English Late 1730,s.
