Rare Tulip Glass Fairy Lamp Defries & Son

Rarely found figural fairy lamp in the form of a tulip. Marked around the rim Defries and Son H.Ditch P P & Regd. The PP stands for Patent Pending and H Ditch is Houndsditch, the area in London where the company existed. It’s very likely these lamps were never registered or had the patent applied for as no records exist. This company also produced a lemon shaped clear lamp but no coloured examples are known, only clear. Small chip to rim, no cracks. C1880 .
