Early Mallet Bottle E. Herbert 1721 Northampton.

A very fine example of an early English mallet wine bottle with seal that reads E. Herbert 1721. Edmund Herbert was keeper of the Royal Forest in Whittlebury Northampton and is thought to be the owner of this well made bottle.  A few scattered high point shoulder scratches but no star cracks, cracks or damage apart from a very minor decorking chip on the top rim. Found on page 592 of Antique Sealed Bottles by David Burton. Height 7.5 inches, width 6 inches.
