Tiny Sealed Onion Bottle Pierrepont Family
This is a wonderful example of a very small sealed onion bottle with full provenance. Dug up from a rubbish pit in 1976 with a further 4 sealed examples this bottle has the crest of the Pierrepont family with fox passant and barons coronet. A couple of tiny nibbles to string rim and a pot stone to the bottom left of the seal. The surface is iridescent from burial. Height 5 inches. This exact bottle is pictured on page 1333/4 of Antique Sealed Bottles by David Burton. C1695/1700.
