Rare Novelty Tobacco/Snuff Leather Bound Book Tin Joseph Fume

A very unusual figural tin in the form of a leather bound book. Joseph fume did actually write a book on the pleasures of tobacco and snuff taking in 1839 so this is a whimsical novelty produced to mimic the book. Height 4.5 inches, width 4 inches. This tin pre dates the well known book tins produced by Huntley & Palmers which were lithographed from the 1860,s. Light scratches and chips to paint only. English C1840,s.
