Saltglaze Stoneware Tavern Ale Tankard Tunbridge Kent 1762

A wonderful personal tavern mug made for Henry Smith Tunbridge (wells) 1762. These rare and desirable tankards with name place and date are some of the most sought after and this one has the bonus of a very nice glaze. An excise mark is stamped on the side for WR. Height 5.5 inches, width 3.5 inches. This mug has been restored to a very high standard with a hairline and rim nibbles repaired including most of the handle. English C1762
