Thomas Deall Egham Stoneware Tankard Surrey
Historic ale tankard made for Thomas Deall of Egham in 1768. The tankard has a slab on the front for either the Ye Pack Horse Tavern or The Nags Head which were both working ale houses at the time. This personalised mug would have been made for Thomas Deall or Deal (spelling was not great in those days!) for his personal use and likely the only known example. As Egham was only a stones throw away from London it is more than likely a Vauxhall or Fulham made piece. Height 5.2 inches, width 3.6 inches. There is also a WR excise mark on the side. Handle intact. Body and base restored. London C1768
