Rare Gorge Handled Black Glass Jug C1720

An exceptionally rare piece of English black glass in the form of a handled tavern jug or Gorge. This form is found in only a handful of existing pieces mostly in museums and those are with glass seals attached. This example has a beautiful white bloom or gall glass effect when sunlight hits its surface. Substantial feel and presence when held in the hand.Height 6.5 inches, width 6.5 inches.
