Mortlake Salt Glaze Stoneware Large Ale Beer Tankard 1793

Large Mortlake London stoneware ale tankard with “Punch Party” cartouche. Original silver hallmarked rim for William Pitts & Joseph Preedy, Date letter S for London 1793. Rodent or mammal engraved coat of arms to silver rim, unattributed. Unusual sprigging include a jumping fox and 2 Grecian ladies. One small chip on handle, repaired. Also a fine crack across base of handle and a smooth chip to base. Height 8.25 inches. C1793 onwards.
