Antique Apothecary Honey Drug Jar Alcock Pottery

A good example of a fully marked drug jar used for Honey. These big decorative jars were toe top of the range items ordered from the Staffordshire potteries by high end chemist shops from the 1840,s onwards. Alcock were the most prolific makers of these jars and this one has the beehive stamped trade mark  for the factory. Height 12 inches, width 11 inches. One handle has had a repair and the lid had one minor chip. Light wear also to some of the gilding. English C1840/50s.
