Antique Glass Sealed Shaft & Globe Wine Bottle
A quite remarkable half sized sealed shaft and globe bottle with exceptional history. This bottle was found near Shrewsbury just over 23 years ago under some tree roots. The full magazine write up done in BBR is included in the listing and adds full provenance which is rarely known about most bottles. The size is very delicate at 7.5 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide. The long slender neck and irregular string rim just add to its appeal. The seal is likely a husband and wife initial. This bottle sold for a world record auction price back in the year 2000 for £18,000 not including the 15% additional commission making it well over £20,000. Originally part of the A.C.Hubbard collection in America. Minor matt surface only, no chips or cracks. English C1650/60. **Found on page 914 of Antique Sealed Bottles by David Burton.**
