Exceptional Mining Sealed Mallet Wine Bottle Carlisle Spedding 1741 Cumbria
A most spectacular wobbly dated mallet with script seal made for Carlisle Spedding in 1741. He was a coal mining entrepreneur born in 1695 and died 1755 and worked primarily in and around the Whitehaven area of Cumbria. The bottle has a full string rim with no chips, just a fold in the rim. It comes also with a wonderful wobbly neck!!. Minor scuff on the glass and a ring mark around the neck which is a manufacturing mark with a tiny edge chip on seal only.
