Antique Alloa Glass Bottle SW 1792

This extraordinary bottle has a well documented history after its exposure from a walled up cottage in Kinross, Scotland back in the 1970,s! To this day it is the earliest recorded sealed bottle from the Alloa Glassworks and sports a fine white chip enamel decoration crudely applied all over the body. Later examples of this type are better blended into the glass but I believe this was an early experimental example yet to be perfected years later. Remarkably in wonderful condition with no damage apart from a tiny nibble on the lip. Height 11 inches, width 7.5 inches. Iron Rod Pontil mark. Scottish C1792
